WFR2026 Kick-Off Night

We begin by reconnecting — welcoming family from near and far, checking in, sharing hugs, meeting new cousins, and opening the weekend in unity.

Guests should enter through the Parks & Recreation entrance at Southfield City Center. Once inside, walk through the main entrance into the lobby. Room 115 is located just down the hall from the main lobby. Front desk staff will be available to welcome guests and direct family members to the correct room.

This Is a Historic First.

This is the first Thomas & Josephine Washington Family Reunion hosted in Detroit, Michigan. As we gather for our 24th Biennial Reunion, we honor the roots that formed us, the faith that sustained us, and the family legacy that continues to stand — generation after generation.

The first Washington Family Reunion was held in Shreveport, Louisiana, with nearly 200 family members in attendance — gathering from Michigan, Iowa, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Kansas, Texas, and Arizona. More than four decades later, the legacy continues. Detroit 2026 marks our 24th Biennial Reunion and the first time our family has ever gathered in the city of Detroit, Michigan.
